1. Educational Objectives

This major is designed under the guidance of National Mid and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan and the educational regularity. This course strengthens practical skills teaching and will equip you with the key academic knowledge and expertise needed to be creative, communicative and socially adaptable graduates. You will gain the skills in English learning, self-development and socializing, and be in a high sense of social responsibility and world citizenship. This will significantly enhance your ability to be competitive in employability nationally and internationally.

Throughout the course you will adopt a range of strategic and up-to-date perspectives and become proficient in functional areas including Tourism management and hospitality management on both national and global scale.

2. Teaching Aims

You will be able to:

     1. Comprehend the basic theory of tourism management, economics and management under the condition of market economy; understand the tourism industries development trend on both national and global scale.

     2. Develop the basic skills for working in tourism management companies or related fields.

     3. Develop a strong ability of expression and writing, interpersonal communication and public relation to be a problem solver.

     4. Be able to read professional books and periodicals as well as be qualified in English conversation.

     5. Be skilled to use computer and other modern information analytic tools, master the techniques of literature searching and data inquiring

     6. Have good health and psychological quality; meet the basic requirements of physical and mental health standard as being college students.

Core Curricula: Accounting, Management, Introduction to Tourism, Hospitality Management, Chinese Tourism Geography.
